Brad Paisley, six time CMA award nominee and the seasoned Oakridge Boys will open and finish for the Comstock Windmill Festival, which announces probably one the finest assembly of country music talent ever in the Midwest.  A full schedule of unique events and awesome entertainment will be held June 7,8,9&10, 2001. Over 30 performances with 16 headliners representing thirty-six number one country hits will grace the stage at he the 2nd Wind Ranch, the largest standing windmill collection in the world. Billed as a Big Show near a small town, Comstock, pop 130 is where last years headliner Brad Paisley was quoted as saying "This is what country music is all about, I'll be back".  A natural amphitheater, the size of a football stadium is located in the center of 2nd Wind Ranch, surrounded with 40 acres of windmills representing the heritage of pioneers of past times.

 

Opening Thursday to accommodate a George Strait Tour will be rising stars Warren Brothers, Sara Evans, Chris Cagle and good to his word, award winning Brad Paisley . A Dynamite package of Number one hit artists, Tim Rushlow, Jeff Carson, Darryl Singletary and Rhett Akins will be on stage on Friday. Skyrocketing Phil Vassor  and Shane Minor will join the lovely and talented Chely Wright and Jamie O'Neal on Saturday. While Sunday will feature the time honored Oakridge Boy with the new and upcoming Rascal Flats, Ricochet and Nickel Creek.  Joining the main events will be regional stars with no less talent.

Events to match the awesome talent through out the day will be  hot air balloon rides, power parachutes and horse drawn wagon rides. Teepees and authentic Indian dancing, historic Long Horns, antique farm equipment and over 100 crafters and artists. Windmills will be erected ever day.  A tremendous selection of food and drink along with camping will be available. Bring your lawn chairs.

The purpose of this event is to grow and sustain the 2nd Wind Ranch, a non-profit organization. Primary goals are to restore and preserve the heritage of Americas' windmills, create jobs in an area that has few, assist in developing tourism in central Nebraska and help keeping Comstock on the map.
