| TALES & TESTIMONIES... | |
While at Godstock 2003 I saw many awesome things, especially when the winds came up and everyone came together to help each other. I lost my daughters and son in all of the commotion while trying to find the others. My youngest daughter was the last to be found and I looked from literally top to bottom, at that time I looked back and the stage collapsed. After I found my sister and 2 of my children the youngest daughter was still not to be found, I stopped and a few of us just prayed and asked for help. Just then I went to the bridge and a man (whom I truly in my heart of hearts believe is my daughters guardian angel) opened a blanket and out from the blanket stood my daughter. I thanked the man and hugged him, when I turned back he was gone. I asked my daughter where she was when the man helped her and she said that she was by the stage and he said to her Karlye come with me. By no means would this man of know her name!!! How awesome!! God was with us and watching over us when the devil tried to ruin our day for us but to no avail it didn't work. He may of "ruined" the rest of the concerts for the weekend but he also taught us that he is weak!! God Bless!! Robyn... PS I hope you enjoy my story as much as I enjoyed it and still get teary eyed thinking about it. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
photo courtesy of Tim & Bonnie Kosmicki | To whom this may concern: I was at this years Godstock and it was awesome. I was one of the 50 people that was on stage when it collapsed that night. My job was when the storm hit I was to make sure the monitors were covered and turned over. When I started to do that the only thing I remember was when I looked up I saw all of the people running for their lives and I looked for my wife in the crowd and I found her and yelled at her to get to the house on the hill side and she took off running for the house and she was struck by a flying lawn chair but was not hurt. so I turned around to help on the stage and by the time I got to the back of the stage it started to fall in and me and the drummer started to get off and some of the stage hit us knocking us to the bank less then 10 ft from a down wire that was live with power thank god we did not get hurt. there was no major injuries thanks to god . I will come next year and have even more fun. Donald
| Hey we just wanted to let you know about our experience at Godstock this year. It was awesome. We are the youth leaders for the Hosanna Christian Fellowship in Aurora, CO. We brought our youth group down for the festival in great expectations of giving them a spiritual boost just before we sent them into the mission fields of their school. Well, we can definitely say it was an awesome experience. Friday nights performance with Rebecca was an awesome time of worship. But nothing can take away Saturdays experience, from the testimonies of the bands to Gods awesome protection during the storm. We serve an awesome God. We had 10 of us there on Saturday night and not a one was hurt in the storm. As soon as the storm hit we gathered our kids and we told them to begin to pray. We rebuked Satan and his evil attack. When we made it back to our van the kids were still a little shook up but all ok. One of our girls received her prayer language during the storm. Praise God! Then as we headed back to North Platte where we were staying the kids began to praise and worship. What an awesome sound to hear a van full of kids 7-13 praising God. Then they wanted to volunteer to come out the next day to help clean up. Their thoughts were not on themselves but on others. Despite the storm they are all exited and are ready for next year. We have definitely made plan to come back and are excited and expecting God to do even more. God Bless and please let us know if there is any thing we can do as far as helping out with next years festival. Love and Prayers, Gene and Kelly... Me and a close friend were mashing in the front row with some kids from Hastings when the storm hit. As the tarps ripped free from the lighting trusses, I turned to look over to the seating side to look for my wife and 2 kids who had been sitting down also at the front. My wife had pulled the kids to a small embankment just to the side of the stage and was laying on them to keep them from blowing away. I just remember a lot of people running and screaming and blowing dirt in my eyes and mouth. It was an absolute miracle that nobody was seriously hurt or killed. Despite all of this, we remain committed as a family, youth group, and church to support another Godstock. I hope Pillar can make it again and this time FINISH THE SHOW!! Gods blessing to all the organizers of Godstock! Mark, Diane, Justice and Sheldon... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - | photo courtesy of Tim & Bonnie Kosmicki | |
| Dear Godstock People, My name is Emma...and I am 13 years old. I came to Godstock this summer and I had an awesome time!! I think it was a great experience for everyone even though we had the storm. I would really enjoy going next year and many years after that. I was trying to think of what I could do to make sure next year is very successful so we can continue it yearly. I was trying to think of some popular singers who could bring in high numbers of people, let everyone have a great time, and help them to know. God at the same time. The person who came to my mind was Clay Aiken. He's a guy who everyone can enjoy and he has God in his life and can help others to have him in theirs. I don't know him personally but from what I've learned about him (from magazine articles, TV, interviews etc.) he has sang songs about god, prays often en, and never takes off his W.W.J.D. bracelet. My dad said for me to email you because he thought bringing Clay could be a good idea to help out Godstock for the years to come. I really would enjoy Godstock to continue and I think that Clay Aiken could help. If you would contact him to see if he's interested in helping us out please do so. And if you could email me back after you receive this to let me know if you will try to get him to come. Thanks for your time. My family & I were enjoying the concerts on Saturday afternoon & evening. It had been a hot day, but we were enjoying the Spiritual time together. As evening drew close, we noticed some clouds coming up. I asked the kids if they thought we should go to the car. They told me "no" that if it sprinkled it would feel good! Suddenly the wind came up & the sky got black with the dirt flying. I told the kids to kneel on the ground & make a circle. We all began to pray for God's safety. We looked up in time to see the stage collapse. We thank God for his protection to us & to fellow believers who were at the worship service with us. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - | ||

| Souls were saved at Godstock 2003; by God's grace not a soul was lost. On Saturday, August 9th, 50 people stood on the stage at Godstock 50 seconds before it collapsed. The lead singer of Pillar was 8 feet from the stage when it fell in. There were two extreme storm cells in the US that night--one of them smashing into Comstock, Nebraska, taking down a $2 million stage, sound, roof and lighting system. The stage, designed to withstand high winds, took the brunt of a straight line wind exceeding 60 mph. One minor injury was reported but miraculously everyone was safe. God's Hand was truly upon all who attended that night. | |
| The stage fell, but the real foundation of Godstock remains forever strong. When everything seemed out of control, Jesus Christ, the Rock, remained in control. We want to thank all of the volunteers who tirelessly invested their time and effort with the cleanup process. We would also like to thank those who gave and continue to give financially to the cause, either by donation or by the purchase of tickets for next year. Thanks also goes out to our brothers & sisters at Christfest who graciously accepted Godstock tickets for their festival of worship in Lincoln. May God bless you as you have blessed us. | photo courtesy of Tim & Bonnie Kosmicki | |
We at Godstock believe that everything happens for a reason. A righteous man in Christ may fall seven times, but he will only fail if he refuses to get up again. Godstock will not stay down. There is a whole nation in need of Jesus Christ, and our mission remains the same. Christ will continue to use Godstock to reach out to those lost and renew the faith of those found. Now is the time to be bold in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. With your prayers and support we will pick up the pieces and rebuild.
Praise God that no lives were lost and souls were Saved in our time at Godstock. God has a plan and it will be revealed in due time. May we all be renewed and strengthened in our faith. Praise God.
