| WINDMILL FESTIVAL FEEDBACK- Hello Henry and Roland, I'm from Ashland, Nebraska and I drove the 4 (or so) hour trip to the festival and let me tell ya, I've never saw a concert in such a beautiful location! I came Thursday night and all the acts, esp. Brad Paisley were fantastic! I'll come back next year for sure! Do you know the dates yet? I'd like to get a room reserved asap! Thanks again for having the festival! I also liked it because it was all ages from kids to older folks! Anyway, thanks again and look forward to next year!!!! If ya know the dates, let me know so I can sneak in and get a room before anyone else! (HEE HEE!) We stayed in a town about an hour west of Kearney and for the likes of me, I can't remember the name. Oh well! Thanks again! Had a super time! I'm telling everyone about how wonderful it was! -Jill Haswell

Hi! I went to the Comstock festival all 4 days!! I had a blast!! I liked how there was always something going on you didn't have to wait until they got the band and stage switched!! I saw that you are having Sawyer Brown, Diamond Rio, and Phil Vasar in September!! I have seen Sawyer Brown and I think they are the best entertainers out there they really get the crowd in it! So I was wondering how much the tickets are and when we will be able to get them. Can't find them on the web site. Thank you and who would of thought Comstock Nebraska would have such a great show!! Hello. We had a really good time at the Comstock Windmill festival. It was a lot of fun, with the big turnout of people. We enjoyed the entertainment, the good food, and were happy you had a mass on Sunday morning. That was very accommodating. We camped in the preferred sites. We received a letter from you with the acts you are looking at for next year and with a chance to reserve a campsite for next year. We must have misplaced the letter. Could we receive another one? Thanks and thank you for inviting us to your ranch, you have the perfect setting for a country festival.. We will be back! -Mary Peterson |
| Hello, I wanted to commend you and Henry on a WONDERFUL festival. I ran into several people from our listening area (Central Kansas) and they were ALL very excited about the event. Some had been to the Country Stampede and thought the Windmill Festival was much more "comfy" and family oriented. I made it to the shows on Saturday and Sunday night and really appreciated that I had the option to work my way to the front of the stage. So many concert these days require and special pass or ticket to get anywhere close to the stage. You allowed ANYONE who wanted to stand, do so. I think that can make a difference to some who buy tickets for next year. I have been to FanFair several times, the Country Stampede, several George Strait Country Music Festivals and other events -- and I have to say I enjoyed the Windmill Festival best (along with my first Fan Fair). I really liked the small town feeling. I think you guys brought out the best of the Oak Ridge Boys. I have seen them 5-6 times and they gave their BEST performance of any I have seen. I have no idea how you came out financially, but as a ticket holder, it was a BIG success and will only get better. I would LOVE be a part of your event again next year. We planted a seed in Central Kansas and by word of mouth, it will grow. If you ever need anything, keep in mind I am a Custer County boy and am willing to help out anytime. I have attached 3 pictures I took with my digital camera. I have several REALLY good shots on disk. If you would like to use them for promotional stuff, I would be willing to send them to you. Thanks again, -Steve Crawford |
| Hello! Just a little note to tell you how awesome I thought the Comstock Windmill Festival 2001 was. I am from O'Neill, NE and work at KBRX Radio in O'Neill and I just thought it was such an neat event to attend. It was very organized and tons of fun! I will be there all days next year. I know a lot of people from the O'Neill area were down there. Thank you for organizing such an awesome event. I'm looking forward to promoting the Comstock Windmill Festival 2002 on the morning show on KBRX 102.9 FM and attending it. Again, what an awesome event! Sincerely, -Nicole Kennedy |
Thank you for putting on such a great weekend. I will defiantly be = there next year. Keep up all the hard work!! -Rhonda |
I had so much fun at Comstock 2001, I was wondering if I could come and work at the festival in 2002? I would need a place to stay, because I live in Iowa. The trip was about 350 miles. Anyway, if there is any way I can help, please let me know. If it is twice as big next year as it was this year - it will be a lot of work, and a lot of fun! Please e-mail me back with any info! Thanks for a great weekend! -Andrea Guiles |
To whom this may concern: I just wanted to write to commend you on this year's windmill festival. I was only able to attend on Sunday, but what I saw was well worth the three hour trip. I'm planning to be there again next year for the whole festival. I also hope you can get some of the same bands as you had this year. Those that I saw on Sunday really put on a great show. Thank you for the great entertainment, and I hope next year turns out to be an even greater success. Sincerely~ -Heather Roland |
Hi Henry, Congratulations on the success of the 2nd Annual Comstock Windmill Festival! So is it the calm after the storm now or do still feel like you're running one thousand miles an hour! Well I did go for three of the four days and I must say that I had a good time. I tried to find you around during the windmill festival but of course you were non-stop busy. So I thought I would just drop you a line. I am very proud of the success of the Windmill Festival I could see all the hard work and time put into it. Events of that size are not an easy thing to pull off. Of course there were the first year glitches and the live and learn mistakes, but what can you expect! Well I am at The Great Platte River Road Archway Monument in Kearney, in Group Sales/Promotions. It's a fun job! I hope that everything went smoothly with the advertising on The Moose. I've keep in real close contact with them and it didn't sound like they had any problems! Anyhow again Congratulations. So sit back relax and enjoy the success of the past weeks events! And then after that second is over start working on next year!!!! :) If you need any help with anything don't be afraid to ask. I would be willing to help in anyway that I could. Well, I best be on my way. We'll talk to you later. -Sara Kaul |
Thank you for putting on a wonderful event. It was a great thing to have in central Nebraska. There obviously was a lot of work put into the celebration by a lot of people. All of that work is thoroughly appreciated. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! -the Kimles |
Hello. We heard so much about the festival this year that we would like to attend it next year. Could you send me any information you have about camp sites and entry admission. Larry Fischer. |
Do you have a schedule for the 2002 Windmill Festival? Dates, Performers, Etc.? If so would you email me back with this info. We attended this year and enjoyed it so much. -Teresa Hampton |
This year was my first festival I brought my 11 year old daughter and we had the absolute best time ever. I didn't miss a single act. I love the chance to stand close or sit down if that is what I wanted to do. I was so excited about the festival that I decided to go to the Stampede after. I was very disappointed and ended up leaving the Stampede early. Stampede was expensive and you could not get close to the stage unless you had spent $300.00 for VIP seats. The area was unclean compared to what I had witnessed at Comstock. I have to give you tremendous kudos for the way the port a pots were clean the showers were fantastic and the security provided by the National Guard was great. Overall I guess if you put the two side by side the Stampede is for those who have not been to see what a real festival is like. Thanks again!!!!!!!
